Unión Fenosa Distribución, the electricity distribution subsidiary of GAS NATURAL FENOSA, has released a free application for mobile devices that enables domestic network users to look up their hourly electricity consumption.
This application, called Mi Consumo (My Consumption), is available on Google Play, in the App Store and in Windows Market for Android, iOS and Windows systems. It can also be accessed from the distribution company’s website.
In order to access their distribution curve, users must be connected to a Unión Fenosa Distribución network and have a smart energy meter installed. The company has installed nearly 1.5 million domestic smart units, representing nearly 42% of its total meters.
The company will finish updating all its meters before 2019 with the installation of an additional two million smart meters. Unión Fenosa Distribución distributes electricity principally in Galicia, Madrid, Castilla-La Mancha and Castilla y León.
The Mi Consumo tool represents a milestone in improving the service quality provided by the distribution company to the users connected to its electrical networks. With it, Unión Fenosa Distribución gets a head start on regulatory requirements by making load curves available to domestic users with remotely managed meters.
Hourly, daily and monthly data
The Mi Consumo application allows users to easily find out how their homes use energy. After registering on the system, users gain access to a graph and complete information about their energy behaviour over the selected time period: hourly, daily or monthly. Each day, users can see the hourly load curve of the day before.
The implementation of smart meters and management tools, such as the Mi Consumo app, contribute to improving the sustainability of the electricity system, increasing its efficiency and strengthening supply quality.
